Who is a casual employee?

A casual employee means you are:

  • Engaged by a Participating Employer (an employer that is eligible to make contributions to your GESB Super or West State Super account)
  • Paid at an hourly rate
  • Not entitled to be paid annual leave or sick leave in your employment

You are also considered a casual employee if you don’t meet the definition of a Permanent Employee, Sessional Employee or Contractor. For the meaning of these terms, please refer to the Glossary in the Insurance and your super brochure.
