What are the security and system requirements for Employer Online?

The security of Employer Online and protecting the privacy and confidentiality of our members' personal information is very important to us.

We use up-to-date security measures to help protect your information, including encryption technology, security certificates and firewalls. You can also help to keep these details secure by following some simple rules.

Using Employer Online

  • Never click a link in an email to go to the login page. Always log in by typing 'gesb.wa.gov.au' into your browser and clicking the login button. Emails from us will never contain a link directly to Employer Online
  • Confirm that your data is encrypted by checking a padlock symbol appears in your browser
  • Check your ‘last logged in’ date and time (at the top of the screen) whenever you log in to make sure it is correct. Please contact us immediately if it looks as though someone unauthorised has logged into your Employer Online portal
  • Always select 'logout' when you have finished

Protect your password

  • Change your password at least every 30 days
  • Choose a password that is difficult to guess and one that you are not using on another site
  • Do not use sequences or repeat three (3) or more characters
  • Do not use any part of your name, telephone number or date of birth
  • Do not share your password with anyone, including a work colleague, the police or a GESB staff member
  • Do not write down your password or disguise it in some other form
  • If you think that your password has become known to someone else, please contact us as soon as possible and ask to have it changed
