What if an employee has a West State Super account and requests future contributions to be paid to a GESB Super account?

West State Super members can direct employer contributions - government and non-government employer contributions (if they have a second job) - to a GESB Super account.

If a contributing West State Super member requests you to direct future contributions to a GESB Super account, you will need to contact us.

Employer Online is not automatically enabled for employers to pay a contribution for a West State Super member to a GESB Super account. This prevents GESB Super accounts being created in error.

Contact Payroll General at payroll.general@gesb.com.au or call us on 13 43 72 to request the change in Employer Online to enable processing of that employee’s contribution. Once enabled by Payroll General, you will be able to submit that employee’s contribution file successfully through Employer Online going forward.

This process needs to be followed even if your employee already has an existing GESB Super account under their West State Super member number.

The Employer Online capability change will need to be actioned on an employee level. This means for each employee that requests this change, you will need to contact us to enable contributions to be submitted for that employee via Employer Online.
