Meet our Relationship Management and Education team

20 August 2025

Since opening to all employers, we’ve been working closely with non-government organisations and their employees who are now choosing to have their compulsory super contributions paid to GESB.

To enable us to continue providing high quality support and education services to a growing number of employers and members, we’re making some exciting changes to our team.

Welcome to GESB, Emlyn Whetnall

Opening our fund to employers outside the WA public sector has created career opportunities for both our current and new staff.

As a result, we recently welcomed Emyln Whetnall as our Manager, Relationship Management and Education.

Emlyn brings over 15 years of senior management experience across the financial services sector, including super, banking and insurance.

He holds a Professional Diploma in Superannuation, a Diploma of Financial Planning, and is a graduate of the well-known Copland Leadership Program run by the Committee for Economic Development of Australia.

As a member of our Reconciliation Working Group, Emyln is a proud advocate for First Nations peoples, helping to improve super outcomes among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Outside of work, he also volunteers and coaches at local sporting clubs in Perth.

Emlyn takes over from Rob Noble, who has moved to a new role as our Manager, Employer and Adviser Development. We thank Rob for his important contribution during his six and a half years managing our employer support and member education services.

New name, same dedicated service

To better reflect what we do and align with the wider super industry, our Key Account Management team is now known as our Relationship Management and Education team.

While we have a new name, our commitment to supporting employers with their super obligations and helping our members achieve their retirement goals hasn’t changed.

As we extend our services and support to new employers and members, we’re also growing our team over the coming months.

Emlyn is looking forward to meeting with employers and making a difference in his role.

‘I’m excited about joining such a highly regarded, member-focused super fund, and to help expand its services outside of the WA public sector,’ he said.

‘Our team will continue to build partnerships with employers and tailor our education programs, contributing to our purpose of helping members achieve a quality retirement.’
