We’re keeping super fees low for your employees

As a WA government super fund, we’re focused on helping more than 250,000 current and former public sector employees build their financial futures and retire with confidence.

To support our commitment to keeping fees low and improving retirement outcomes for members, we’ve made changes to our administration fees for GESB Super and West State Super accounts.

What has changed?

Following a recent pricing review, we’re pleased to advise that from 1 October 2026:

  • We have reduced the percentage-based administration fee for GESB Super accounts from 0.16% to 0.12% per annum (p.a.)
  • We introduced a cap of $600 p.a. on the percentage-based administration fees charged to GESB Super and West State Super accounts

Administration fees are deducted from members’ accounts each month to cover the costs of managing these accounts, while helping to maintain our risk reserves.

What do these changes mean for your employees?

Lower administration fees mean that more of our members’ super stays invested, helping them feel more confident about their financial future.

For example, a member invested in My GESB Super with an account balance of $50,000 would pay $20 less in administration fees per year because of the reduced percentage-based administration fee1.

With the new administration fee cap, the most a GESB Super or West State Super member will pay in percentage-based administration fees is $600 p.a., regardless of their account balance.

Note that the cap does not apply to the fixed account keeping fee of $66 p.a., which will continue to be charged as normal.

We notified members of these changes with their 2026 member statement, which included a copy of our Significant Event Notification.
