Good news: we’re keeping your fees low
As the cost of living continues to apply pressure, we’re committed to keeping our fees low.1
That’s why as of 1 October 2026, we’ve made changes to our administration fees for GESB Super and West State Super accounts.
Below is a summary of the changes.
What’s changed?
Following our most recent pricing review, we have reduced the percentage-based administration fee for GESB Super accounts from 0.16% to 0.12% per annum (p.a.).
We also introduced a cap of $600 p.a. on the percentage-based administration fees charged to GESB Super and West State Super accounts.
Administration fees explained
Our administration fees are made up of two parts:
- The percentage-based fee, which is calculated as a percentage of your monthly account balance
- A fixed account keeping fee of $66
Administration fees are deducted from your account each month to cover the costs of managing your account. They also help maintain our risk reserves, which protect you and other GESB members from unexpected costs.
Please note that other fees and costs apply. For more information, please refer to the relevant fee schedule on our Brochures and forms page.
What do these changes mean for you?
For GESB Super members
Lower administration fees mean that more of your super stays invested for your future. Here’s an example of how your new percentage-based administration fee of 12% would impact a member invested in My GESB Super with an account balance of $50,000.
| Example: My GESB Super | Before 1 October 2026 | From 1 October 2026 |
|---|---|---|
Fixed account keeping fee | $66 p.a. | $66 p.a. |
Percentage-based administration fee | $80 p.a. (0.16% of $50,000) | $60 p.a. (0.12% of $50,000) |
Total administration fees and costs | $146 p.a. | $126 p.a. |
In this example, the member would pay $20 less in administration fees per year, which would instead stay invested in their account.2 Lower fees can make a big difference to your balance over time, helping you feel more confident about your financial future.
For GESB Super and West State Super members
The table below shows how the new $600 cap on your percentage-based administration fee works.
| If your annual percentage-based administration fee is | You will pay |
|---|---|
$450 | $450 |
$600 | $600 |
$700 | $600 |
This means, regardless of your super balance, the most you’ll pay in percentage-administration fees is $600 p.a. for each of your GESB Super or West State Super accounts.
Note that the cap does not apply to the fixed account keeping fee of $66 p.a., which will continue to be charged as normal.
