GESB welcomes new Chief Executive Officer Joann Wilkie PSM

Ms Joann Wilkie PSM > GESB is pleased to announce the appointment of Joann Wilkie PSM as Chief Executive Officer, commencing on 12 August 2026.
Joann joins GESB from the Western Australian public sector, where she previously served as Under Treasurer. She brings extensive experience in public policy, finance and economic leadership, having led major organisations and reform initiatives throughout her career.
Recognised for her collaborative leadership style, stakeholder engagement and commitment to building high-performing teams, Joann's appointment comes as GESB continues to focus on delivering strong outcomes for members, modernising services and strengthening capabilities for the future. Joann was awarded the Public Service Medal in recognition of her outstanding contribution to public administration.
GESB Chair Jo Gaines welcomed Joann's appointment, noting her experience and leadership will support the organisation as it continues to evolve and deliver for members.
"Joann is an accomplished and respected public sector leader whose experience in governance, finance and organisational leadership will be a great asset to GESB," Ms Gaines said.
The Board also acknowledges and thanks Paul Taylor for his leadership as Interim Chief Executive Officer. Paul will return to his role as Chief Investment Officer, where he will continue to play an important role in GESB's ongoing success.
