Your guide to using Member Online

Member Online is your secure portal to access and manage your super account. You can check and change your account information and use a range of tools to help you make the most of your super money – now and into retirement.
Protect your identity to keep your super safe
We work hard to keep your super and personal information safe with various security measures in place, including multi-factor authentication (MFA) for Member Online.
As scams and fraud continue to rise, it's more important than ever to protect your privacy and identity online.
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security
MFA is a two-step security check we use to confirm your identity when you log in and request any changes to your account.
- When you log in to Member Online using your username and password, or submit a request to make a change to your account once logged in, we’ll ask you to complete a second identity step to check it’s you
- You’ll then need to confirm it’s you by providing the additional form of verification, before you can log in or request the change
MFA is designed to make sure that only you can make changes to your account, to help protect your account from fraudulent activity.
Set up MFA for Member Online
Learn what to do to set up MFA, depending on whether you already use Member Online or if you're registering for the first time.
You’ll be prompted to set up an authenticator or a passkey to access your account the next time you log in.
How to set up security check options in Member Online:
- Log in to your Member Online account as per usual
- Follow the prompts to set up your chosen security method – a passkey or authenticator
- Use the passkey or authenticator to verify your identity when logging in or making changes to your account
You can add multiple passkeys and one authenticator. We recommend setting these up on an Apple or Android device such as a phone or tablet – and one you keep with you or use the most.
When you register for Member Online, you’ll be required to set up a passkey or authenticator for your account security.
This will make sure your account is protected by an extra layer of security from the moment you create it.
Check device compatibility
Most modern devices such as iPhone, Android, Windows, macOS can create and store passkeys automatically – but it depends on the device and its operating system.
Generally, passkeys will work on:
- An Apple device with iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS Ventura or later
- An Android device with Android 9 or later
- Edge or Google Chrome on Windows 10 or later
- Safari or Google Chrome on macOS
- ChromeOS on Chromebook
Set up fingerprint/facial recognition or screen unlock
Have one of the below functions enabled:
- Fingerprint or facial recognition
- Screen unlock (pattern or PIN)
Use the device you have with you most of the time – or the one you use the most
Passkeys are locked to the specific device, so we recommend creating one on an Apple or Android device - and the device you use most of the time.
Log in to Member Online using the device you want to set up a passkey on. For example, to set up a passkey on your mobile phone, log in to Member Online on your mobile phone.
Check device compatibility
If you’re an Apple user, your device might be able to create and store authenticators automatically – but it depends on the device and its operating system. Generally, you need an iPhone, iPad or Mac with an operating system of iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra 10.13 or later. Please refer to Apple for full compatibility details.
If you don’t have an iPhone or other Apple device, or your device doesn’t have the in-built functionality, you need to install an authenticator app on your phone or tablet.
Authenticator apps will generally work on the below devices and operating systems:
- Microsoft authenticator – Android 8 or iOS 16 or later
- Google authenticator – Android 4.4 or iOS 11.0 or later
- Authy – Android 5.0 or iOS 16 or later
If needed, download an authenticator app on your device
To download your chosen app:
- Go to your mobile or tablet device's app store
For Android, this is the Google Play Store, and for iPhones, it's the App Store
- Search for the service, for example ‘Microsoft Authenticator’
- Download and install the app on your device
Set up MFA methods on the devices you have with you most of the time
To make accessing your account easy, we recommend setting up a passkey or authenticator app on an Apple or Android device - and a device you will have with you most of the time. We also suggest setting up more than one MFA method, for example, a passkey and an authenticator, so you have a back-up.
Other options to set up and store passkeys and authenticators
Password managers such as Keeper Security or Google Password Manager store your passkeys and authenticators in an encrypted vault, rather than on your device.
You can set up a passkey through an existing password manager – just make sure your password manager is already set up, and the browser you are using supports passkeys.
You can also use a physical security key, which you can insert into the device’s USB port or tap via NFC, as long as it is compatible with WebAuthn.
WebAuthn is supported across major operating systems, including Android, Apple and Windows, when used with a compatible browser, such as:
- Chrome
- Safari
- Edge
Different security keys have different compatibilities, so please check with the supplier for details.
If you don’t set up a passkey or authenticator
We have a responsibility as a fund to protect our members' accounts. Using outdated security could put accounts at risk, so we encourage you to try one of the above options to protect you accounts.
If you decide not to or are unable to set up a passkey or authenticator after 16 February 2026, you won’t be able to access your Member Online account – but you can always give us a call or use Live Chat to check your balance and use paper forms to make changes.
You’ll always have access to your information in some form.
