Can I use the passkey on my phone to log in to another device?
Yes, if you have set up a passkey on your phone, you may be able to use that passkey to log in on another device, such as a computer.
How to use your phone’s passkey to log in on a computer
Note: the process may depend on the device(s) used.
- Log in to Member Online on your computer by entering your username and password
- Select passkey as your multi-factor authentication (MFA) verification method
- On the Verify with a passkey page, select ‘confirm’
- A popup will appear on your computer screen. It will give you the option to use a QR code with ‘iPhone, iPad or Android device’ or a ‘Security key’ (such as Yubikey). Select ‘iPhone, iPad or Android device’
- A QR code will appear on your computer screen for you to scan with your phone
- Open the camera app on your phone and scan the QR code. A button will appear ‘sign in using passkey’ – select this to start the process
- Your computer will connect with our security provider’s server, and you should see a connection confirmation on both your phone and your computer
- On your phone, click on the ‘Use a passkey’ button to complete the login process on your computer
- On your phone, you will get a confirmation that your passkey has been successfully used. You will notice that you will be logged in now to Member Online on your computer
