How do I add a passkey in Member Online?

Passkeys are locked to the specific device, so we recommend creating one on your phone - or the device you use most of the time.

If you are creating a passkey, you must log in to Member Online using the device you want to create a passkey on. i.e. log in on your phone if setting up a passkey on your phone.

  1. Log in to Member Online

  2. On the Security settings page, scroll down to ‘Add or change your security option’

  3. Select ‘Add passkey’

  4. You will be prompted to enter your password for security reasons and verify your identity before setting up a new method

  5. On the Set up security methods page, select ‘Add passkey’

  6. On the Set up passkey page, select ‘set up’

  7. Follow the prompts on your device to complete set up. This will depend on the device you are using and the operating system

  8. To complete set up, you may be required to verify your identity on your device by using your usual unlock method i.e. fingerprint, face ID, swipe pattern or PIN

  9. When the passkey has been successfully added in Member Online, it will appear on the Security settings page

  10. To use your passkey to verify your identity the next time you log in, select ‘Verify with something else’ when prompted. It will display your last used option by default

  11. Select from the list of available options and unlock your passkey with your chosen method on your device to log in

Important note

Because passkeys are locked to a specific device, you can generally only use this passkey to log in using the device you set it up on.

For example, if you set up a passkey for Member Online on your computer and then log in to Member Online using your phone, your passkey won't work.

For this reason, we recommend setting up a passkey on a phone - or the device you keep with you. You may also wish to set up a second authentication method as a backup.
