Accessing your member statement summary is subject strictly to the following terms and conditions. It is important that you read and understand these terms and conditions before using this service. By accessing your statement summary, you accept and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, as well as our Privacy Statement and disclaimer.

What is a statement summary?
It is an interactive internet-based service that allows you, as an authenticated member, to:
- See your account balance as at the end of the last completed financial year
- View the total ‘money in’ and ‘money out’ of your account for the year
- See the performance of your investment plan/s
- Review any insurance cover you have, including your premiums
- View the personal details we have for you
- Access Member Online to download your full statement, make changes to your account, or view your current account balance
Access your statement summary
Only authenticated GESB members can access their statement summary. To gain entry, you must select your personalised URL (PURL) from your member statement email, and provide your member number, surname (family name) and age.
Privacy
We respect your privacy. The complete terms of our privacy statement are incorporated into and form part of this agreement. View our Privacy Statement.
Content and tools
We provide your statement summary, including any tools and content within your summary, for your information only. You should not rely on this content as a guarantee of the benefits which you may be entitled to. You may wish to seek advice specific to your circumstances from a qualified adviser before making any decisions about your superannuation.
This content is of a general nature and does not constitute legal, taxation, or personal financial advice, or indicate that any particular product or service we offer is available or applicable to your unique circumstances. All examples are hypothetical and for illustrative purposes. In providing this content we have not taken into account your objectives, financial situation or needs. We are not licensed to provide financial product advice.
Although we have obtained content from sources we believe are reliable, GESB and our subsidiaries are not responsible for any content provided by third parties. You may wish to consult an appropriate adviser for advice about your unique situation.
Your conduct
You agree that you will not use our statement summary service for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms and conditions or any other terms, conditions or notices appearing anywhere on our website. You also agree to abide by all applicable laws and regulations.
In particular, you agree not to:
- Publish, distribute, email, transmit or disseminate any material that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, indecent, offensive or inappropriate
- Use any automated scripting tools or software
- Engage in or promote any surveys, contests, pyramid schemes, chain letters, unsolicited emailing or spamming through our website
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Upload, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available using the website any material that you do not have a right to make available under any law or contractual obligation, or which contains viruses, or other computer codes, files or programs designed to interrupt, limit or destroy the functionality of other computer software or hardware
- Breach any applicable laws or regulations
- Use the website to defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten or otherwise offend others
Your liability
You are responsible for any activity or loss caused by use of the personal information you provide to access your statement summary.
You are responsible for any access to this system using your personal authentication information, including any use you have not approved.
To the extent permitted by law, GESB and our officers, directors, employees, agents, assigns, and any related person or entity accept no responsibility or liability for any direct, indirect, or consequential, loss, damage, liability, claim, cost or expense (including but not limited to legal costs, and defence, or settlement costs), arising in contract, tort, statute, or otherwise, suffered in connection with the use of this website, the use of information contained on this website, any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of this website, or any transmission of any computer virus, or malware, or any other defects or errors.
You agree to indemnify GESB and the State of Western Australia against all actions, suits, claims, demands, liabilities, costs, expenses, losses, and damages (including legal fees on a full indemnity basis) incurred or suffered as a direct or indirect consequence of your use of this system, your breach of these conditions, or your breach of any rights of third parties. This includes use by any other person using your personal authentication information.
You agree to notify us of any change of address or personal details so we can maintain your account correctly.
If you suspect someone has access to your PURL and knows your personal authentication details, you will be liable for the distribution of information about your superannuation.
It is your responsibility to:
- Obtain, pay for and maintain any equipment, such as a personal computer and modem, and the recommended software (collectively known as 'the equipment') necessary to access your statement summary
- Ensure you take all reasonable steps to protect the security of the equipment, and the privacy of your information
- Ensure that all files on your equipment are free from viruses and other spyware
- Ensure that you take all reasonable steps to protect your PURL and authentication information
- Not leave your equipment unattended while your statement summary session is open
Your PURL and authentication information
To access your statement summary, you will need to use the PURL included in your statement email, and provide your member number, surname (family name) and age each time.
It is a requirement of using our statement summary service that you keep your PURL to yourself. Please note that:
- You are responsible for protecting your PURL and authentication information from becoming known to a third party
- You can be liable for unauthorised actions carried out by unauthorised persons using your PURL and authentication information
- You must not give, show or share your PURL and authentication information with anyone, including family, friends or financial advisers
- You must exit your statement summary as soon as you have finished using it, by clicking the 'log out' hyperlink
- You have five (5) attempts to confirm your details. After the fifth failed attempt to enter your details, access to your statement summary is blocked for your security. You will need to log into Member Online to access your full member statement.
If you suspect someone has access to your PURL and knows your authentication information, or that your statement summary has been accessed without authorisation, you must notify your Member Services Centre on 13 43 72 as soon as possible.
Accuracy of information
We will take all reasonable steps to ensure the content available through your statement summary is correct. The content displayed in your statement summary is based on the previous financial year's data. Your account is subject to change without notice, and you can view your current account balance in Member Online.
Your super benefit entitlement may vary due to a number of reasons, including declared investment returns, your contributions and your salary movements. Content generated for your statement summary is only a general illustration of your possible benefit entitlement based on information provided by you and/or your employer as at the end of the last completed financial year.
The accuracy of content we provide in your statement summary, in particular, benefit entitlement information, is not guaranteed. Your benefit will be determined in accordance with the Act(s) and Regulations governing the scheme(s). We do not accept responsibility for benefit entitlement information provided in your statement summary, and we cannot be held liable for any loss or damage suffered by reliance on inaccurate benefit entitlement information. This includes any inaccuracy caused by an error or omission made by us.
You must satisfy yourself, by making your own independent enquiries or by seeking written confirmation, that any content provided in your statement summary is correct. It is your responsibility to contact us if you believe information you have received through the service is incorrect.
You should not rely on the content provided in your statement summary in making financial decisions, and we encourage you to seek professional advice on the financial, legal or taxation implications of this content before making any decisions.
To verify the benefit estimate you receive through your statement summary, please contact your Member Services Centre on 13 43 72.
Availability of your statement summary
To ensure your experience is productive, we will take all reasonable steps to ensure your statement summary is available to you. However, it is your responsibility to contact us by other means (email, mail, fax, phone or in person) if your required functions are not available.
Occasionally, we may need to perform maintenance on our online services, which may make all or part of your statement summary unavailable. Where possible, we will provide notice on our public website gesb.wa.gov.au of any times or functions that may become unavailable.
We are not responsible or liable for your statement summary being unable to perform in whole or part any function we have specified it will perform. We are also not responsible or liable for the unavailability of the service, or delays or errors in the execution of any transaction because of the failure of the communication network, or any other equipment, or any other circumstances beyond our control.
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue your statement summary. If we do exercise this right, we will not be liable to you or any third party.
Termination or suspension of access
We may terminate or suspend your access to your statement summary at any time, for any reason. We will do so if we are aware of fraudulent access to your superannuation information, or if your account is being accessed contrary to these terms and conditions.
We are not responsible for any liability, loss, or damage arising from us terminating your access to your statement summary. We are not liable for any loss or damage suffered because of fraudulent use of any statement summary benefit information.
You may choose to suspend or terminate your access to your statement summary, at any time, by notifying your Member Services Centre by phone or letter. If you wish to cancel your access to your statement summary because you suspect fraudulent access to your accounts, please advise us when cancelling your access so we can act quickly.
In certain circumstances, we may, with or without notice, notify and provide any relevant information to the appropriate authorities.
If your access to your statement summary is suspended or ceased for any reason, our disclaimers and limitations of liability will remain in force and effect but you will no longer be authorised to access your statement summary.
When the number of unsuccessful attempts to confirm your details has been exceeded, you will not have access to your statement summary and you will need to refer to your full member statement in Member Online for the details that applied to your account at the end of the financial year.
Changes to these conditions
These terms and conditions replace any other previously published terms and conditions on your statement summary. We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time, without prior notification, by publishing the varied terms and conditions on this website from the date of effect of the changes. You accept that, by doing this, we have provided you with sufficient notice of the variation.
Cookies
Your statement summary uses persistent cookies, which remain on your equipment until you erase them or they expire. They enable us to remember you on subsequent visits and enhance your experience of the services or functions offered. They cannot be used to access your accounts or personal details. You can modify your personal computer settings at any time to prevent cookies from being stored.
Email announcements
When you are registered for electronic statements (eStatements), you may occasionally receive personalised messages by email containing information and offers from us. At any time, you can choose to discontinue receiving these materials by notifying us.
To no longer receive emails from us, you should refer to our Privacy Statement on this website and advise us by:
- Using the unsubscribe feature on our emails
- Submitting a contact us form online
- Calling your Member Services Centre on 13 43 72, or using Live chat on gesb.wa.gov.au,between 7.30am and 5.30pm (AWST), Monday to Friday
Laws applicable
These terms and conditions and the use of your statement summary are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Western Australia.
Severability
In the event any provision or part of these terms and conditions is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, only that particular provision or part so found, and not the entirety of the terms and conditions, will be inoperative.
Complaints/disputes
To help you with any enquiries or complaints you may have about our statement summary service, we have produced a Resolving your complaint brochure that outlines how to make a complaint, and our process to resolve complaints. We encourage you to read this brochure before lodging your complaint with us. You can download this brochure, or call your Member Services Centre on 13 43 72 and ask us to post you a copy.
