Statement summaries: security and system requirements

The security of your statement summary is very important to us, as is the privacy and confidentiality of your personal information.

We use up-to-date security measures to help protect your information, including security certificates and firewalls.

You can help to keep your account information secure by following a few simple rules.

Before accessing your statement summary

  • Before you click the personalised link in your statement email, always check the link in the email starts with ‘e.gesb.wa.gov.au’
To check links in an email, simply hover your mouse over the link without clicking and you’ll see the destination address appear.
  • Once you arrive at the ‘Confirm your details’ page of your statement summary, check the website address starts with ‘statements.gesb.wa.gov.au’
As the website address, or personalised access link, for your statement summary is unique to you, you’ll need to keep your statement email in a safe place if you want to access your summary later.
  • Confirm that your data is encrypted by ensuring a padlock symbol appears in your browser. Below are some examples of where you will find this symbol on commonly used browsers
  • Always select 'logout' and close your browser once you have finished viewing your statement summary
Where to find the padlock icon in your browser
Browser Location of padlock
Google Chrome The padlock icon shows directly next to the web address, left aligned
Safari The padlock shows next to the web address, center aligned
iPhone The padlock shows next to the web address, center aligned
Edge The padlock shows next to the web address, left aligned

The Chrome, Safari and Firefox browsers even present a warning message when a website is not secure. When you see this warning, you should avoid sensitive transactions on these pages, including logging in or providing personal or payment information. Browsing insecure sites could put you at risk if you are viewing information that is dangerous or not condoned in your country.

Confirm your details and view your statement summary

  • We will only ask you to enter three details about yourself that you will know (but someone else may not know) in order to gain access to your statement summary
  • The details you enter need to match the personal details we have on record
  • If you want to view your statement summary later, please keep your statement email with your personalised access link
  • Please don’t share your statement email with anyone, including a work colleague or a GESB staff member
  • If you suspect that your statement email has been accessed by someone else, you should contact us as soon as possible, so we can lock your statement summary
