What information can we release under a third party authority?

A third party authority allows the authorised person (or employee, if it’s for an organisation), to access the information we hold about you and your accounts.

This may include:

  • Your personal and employment details
  • Your account balance
  • Details of your transactions
  • Information about how your funds are invested
  • Details of any insurance within your account

The authority doesn’t allow the authorised person to make any changes to your account or personal details, or carry out transactions on your behalf.

If you are looking for someone to make financial decisions for you, see the Office of the Public Advocate's website for information on making an enduring power of attorney.
