Using ON24
ON24 is easy to use and you don’t need to create an account to join a webinar.
When you register for a webinar, we send you a confirmation or reminder email with an ON24 link. Use the link in the email to join the webinar on the day.
Important checklist for using ON24
- Use the right Internet browser
Use a Windows PC with the latest version of Chrome or Microsoft Edge browsers only. For Apple users, use the latest version of Chrome only.
- Clear your Internet browser cache
Clear browser cache before logging in to ON24. Steps for clearing your cache can be found on the ON24 support page.
- Optimise your internet performance
If possible, a wired connection over Wi-Fi is recommended. It’s also a good idea to close other programs on your computer that use bandwidth, processing power or can make use of your webcam and microphone. Log out of any VPN that may be in use.
- Access to your camera and microphone
Ensure you have enabled internet browser access to your camera and microphone. Steps for managing app permissions for camera and microphone in Windows can be found on the Microsoft support page.
Click ‘Allow’ if your browser asks for ON24 access to your webcam and/or microphone. This is normally shown as a message at the top left or top right of your browser. Steps for the "Unable to Access Camera or Microphone Error" can be found on the ON24 support page.
- Ensure webcam and microphone drivers are up to date
You can automatically keep your drivers up-to-date on a Windows laptop by downloading the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant.
- Getting connected
When connecting a laptop to a docking station, be sure to connect any external USB webcams or microphones to the USB ports on the docking station, and not to the USB ports on the laptop.
- Audio
Make sure your internal laptop loudspeakers, or external USB loudspeakers or headphones, are on and turned up. Also ensure you have the correct playback device (i.e. external USB loudspeakers) set up on your laptop.
